Great reminders and practical advice on raising Men! As the mother of 3 sons, this book gave me some really practical ways to talk with my boys about sometimes uncomfortable topics. This book makes you think about being intentional in the way you raise your son. There are no study questions, but it is fun to get a group together to discuss it.
Written for my wife, but I enjoyed the book too. You have to have these conversations and it's nice to share the same points of view.

Very insightful for mothers of boys to understand what they are up against and how we can influence and impact them for eternity. One of my go to books for sure in raising my 3 boys!!
Life isn't what it was when we were young. Kids have a different set of rules to play by these days. This book has also been insightful to me (being a mom, and not a dad) about the struggles (especially sexual) boys face! It's an eye opener with some required (yet difficult) converstations we should be having with our sons. She also gives tips on how to actually start the conversations.
5 Conversations You Must Have with Your Son is the first book I have read by Vicki Courtney, and I enjoyed my digital review copy so much that I bought the paperback version to have for future reference.
Vicki covers many important topics that we, as parents, and especially mothers, may not know how to talk to our sons about.
She gives wonderful word choices and practical advice throughout the book, which covers five major "conversations"

What I loved about 5 Conversations You Must Have with Your Son is that there are tips and advice for talking to your sons regardless of whether they are young, tweens, or leaving the nest, as well as some insight on what different ages may be facing and thinking. This is one of the reasons why I decided to buy the paperback version...so that I could reference topics that my children are a bit too young for just yet, but that will need to be approached in the near future (especially her words and advice around sex and repercussions for premarital sex, in particular).
However, at the same time, I was immediately able to put to use some of the topics covered and speak to my younger children about some of the "conversations" above. Our talks were a bit surprising to me, and a bit eye-opening to me as a mother, but were very fruitful and I believe, helped strengthen the bond between my children and I.
I would recommend this book to anyone who has sons! You won't regret learning ways that we can teach our children morals, values and character in a world that is slowly losing touch with those things.

Lots of good things you presume that kids would know instinctively. Not so. This brings those topics to the forefront and makes you think about those topics and how to approach them.
